My Local Awards – Results

Thank you so much to everyone who voted for us in the My Local Awards – East Midlands round – we WON Animal Rescue Centre of the Year!

We work tirelessly around the clock to save lives and help animals in need. This award means the world to us and will help us to help more animals. We are all volunteers, no one gets paid a penny to help save lives at Chesterfield Animal Rescue. We go above and beyond for animals who need us, dedicating our lives to help save others.

A note from our founder

Getting the winning email left me in tears, I am so very grateful for everyone’s help and support. I remember excitedly waiting to get to 50 likes on Facebook, this year we’ve reached 20,000 likes and won two awards. Thank you all so very much, 2026 is opening new doors for us and we can’t wait for our future, saving more lives in a rescue centre so many will call home.

Our first award was from the Animal Star Awards, we won Rescue of the Year – Midlands with them as well. Their judges loved the work we do and we were chosen as their winners. We are very so grateful to them as well.

Two awards in one year, more volunteers, more foster homes, more support and more kindness from other. Thank you all so much again, we couldn’t do it without you
